Dale Nelson Jr., age 23, at the time of this interview was the driver of the #96 Street Stock car and the #N1 Hobby car. Dale Jr. is a scrap metal recycler and chief in training at his father’s business, Dale’s Recycling in Cades, TN in which Dale Sr. would hand down to him in the future. Dale and his girlfriend Lindsey, live in Trezevant and they have an 1 year old boy named Hunter. Dale Jr.’s parents are Penny Garrison and as you all know, Dale Nelson. Dale Jr. also has one brother named Cody Nelson, and one sister named Alex Garisson.
Dale Jr.’s start in racing came from following in the shadows of his father through his racing career. Dale Jr. began to race go-karts at the young age of 12 and moved up to the stock car ranks at age 15. The car # 96 came from the year that the car owner built the car, and the #N1 was passed down from his father. Dale Jr.’s future plans in racing are to stay in the current classes and wait to see if a Crate Late Model class becomes available at Clayhill, and he might give that class a try in the future. His father of course was his biggest influence in his racing career. Dale’s Recycling in Cades, TN is the sponsor of his # N1 hobby car.
