2007 Driver Profiles Mark Bray
Mark Bray is in the Pure Street class driving car #87 for the Bray’s racing team. Mark is 31 years old, and delivers furniture along with several other job descriptions at the family business, Bray’s Furniture in Pinson, TN. Mark lives in Pinson along with the rest of the family, and ladies, he does have a girlfriend named Kimberly. Mark’s proud mother is Star Smith and his father who enjoys racing just as much as Mark is Frankie Bray. Mark’s siblings include Karen Hicks, and Candy Beshires who both have husbands that enjoy the hobby of racing along with the Bray’s racing team. Mark’s love for racing began with joining his father Frankie at the track each week, and at the age of 29, Mark decided to get a car of his own. Mark’s car number began with a 7 being on the car when he first got it, so they decided to add an 8 to it. Mark states his future plans in racing are to move up to the Street Stock class in the upcoming years. Helping Mark get started in racing in the Hummer class, his father, Frankie became the biggest influence in his racing career. Some of Mark’s career highlights include 5 feature wins in his rookie year and several top ten finishes. Tim Hicks, age 32, is the driver of the #D7 car in the Pure Street class. During the week Tim spends his time at his lovely job welding at Mid-South Machine & Welding. Tim is married to his lovely wife Karen, they live in Henderson, TN, and have one child named Mason, age 12. Tim’s mom’s name is Mary and he has one brother named Tony. Tim began to get the love of racing in his heart at a very young age while growing up around the race track and finally got a car of his own at age 30. Tim’s car number was acquired from Jerry Inman, this number was Jerry’s car number when Tim was growing up watching him race!! Tim’s future plans in racing is to some day make his way out of the Pure Street class and race in the Hobby class. His biggest influence in racing has been his brother-in-laws. Tim captured eight feature wins in the beginning of his racing career in the Hummer class!! Todd Beshires
Todd Beshires, age 35, is the driver of the #89 in the Pure Street class. Todd spends his days at work, welding, at Mid-South Machine & Welding in Jackson, TN. Todd is married to his lovely wife, Candy, and they have been married for 12 years. The family lives in Henderson, TN and the race car may be his baby he spends time with in the shop each night, but he does have three children, Dustin, age 16, Zach, age 15, and 7 month old Brayden. Todd’s proud parents are Larry & Joyce Beshires. Todd’s start in racing began while joining his father-in-law, Frankie Bray, at the track. Todd feel in love with the sport and decided to get a Hummer car at the age of 32, and the rest is history in the making. The car number of 89 came from the year that Todd graduated high school. Todd’s future plans in racing are to someday make it to the Hobby class. His biggest influence in racing has been Jeff Gordon since Todd and Jeff were born in the same year of 71, and they graduated in the same year of 89, plus he feels Jeff is a great driver that strives for perfection every time he is on the track. Kinney, age 20, is the driver of the
#22 Open Wheel Modified class. On a
daily basis, Richard is a metal finisher
at Wright Metal Technology, and also
attends a Tool & Die class in the Tennessee
Technology Center at Jackson State.
Richard still lives at home with his
parents, Charles and Teresa along with
a younger brother named Austin. Richard’s
start in racing began with his father
racing when Richard was very young,
but then at the age of 7 he jumped into
go-kart racing, and finally at the age
of 15 moved into stock car racing in
the Pure Street class!!
