4th Annual Street Stock Championship
Sept. 28, 29, & 30

Atwood, TN: Night two of the three night event is in the books. Four heat races have been run and the line-up for the 50 Lap feature is coming together with 16 cars locked into the main event on Sat. Night. After transferring the top 4 in each heat race, the main event looks to be a great show with some strong competition throughout the first 8 rows.

Heat race #1 seen the Tennessee Lawyer, Mike Ainley, drive away from the competition with almost a whole straight-a-way length lead for several laps until a caution fell with only a few laps left in the 20 lap heat event, but Mike held out to take the win. Ainley is locked into the feature event, but his position will be decided in the $200 to win Sonic Dash for Cash on Sat. Night. Garrett Mann, Rex Berry, and Harold Sullivan also secured themselves a spot in the 50 Lap event by finishing in the top 4 in heat #1.

In heat race #2, Jared Wagster held of Clayhill’s Hobby class points champion, Bobby Hobbs, to secure himself a top 4 starting spot in Sat. Night’s feature event. Wagster will have to join the other heat winners in the Dash for Cash to determine his actual starting position. Bobby Hobbs, Claudie Cook, and Clayhill’s Street Stock Champion, Eric Pinson, also have a spot saved for them in the feature event, but they will have to work hard to get themselves to the front coming from mid-pack.

Heat race #3 was wild from lap one, when Ronnie Cooper and Bruce Sutterfield got together in turn three causing a large road block. Greg Casey, Jeff Wells, John Hughes, and Mario Espinoza found that road block quick, and all 4 had to call it a night after suffering major damage in this lap 1 crash. After the race returned to green flag status, the winner of last years $6000 to win race, Robby Arnold, never looked back, and went on the take the heat win locking him into the main event. Robby Arnold will be in the Dash for Cash for his position, while Bruce Sutterfield, Kevin Salter, and Ronnie Cooper have locked themselves into mid-pack starting spots.

Heat race #4 seen Clayhill’s Open Wheel points champion, T.J. Herndon, lead the race from start to finish with Matt Cooper having to settle for 2nd place. Matt Cooper had a pass made to the inside of Herndon at the beginning , but the caution fell, placing Cooper back in 2nd place where he would stay for the remainder of the race. T.J. Herndon will join Robby Arnold, Jared Wagster, and Mike Ainley in the $200 to Win Sonic Dash for Cash to set the top 4 starting positions for the 50 lap feature race. Matt Cooper, Steven Cunningham, and Neil Brown will be locked into mid-pack starting positions to battle their way to the front.
On Sat. Night, the drivers finishing outside the top four in their heat race, will have one last chance to make the show in two B-main Qualifier events. In these B-main events, we will transfer the top 3 cars to the feature securing them spots in rows 9 thru 11.

After the B-Main events, we will look back to our weekly Hobby class and Street Stock class point totals to find our highest driver in the points ranking not already locked into the feature race, and this will set row 12, positions 23 & 24.
After those two positions are determined, the 25th and final starting position will go to the driver not locked into the feature race with the fastest time from Thursday night’s time trial results.
The first 2 rows for the feature race will be set by the Dash for Cash event made up of the 4 heat winners!!!
