4th Annual Street Stock Championship

Atwood, TN: Just like Bobby Fuller sang back in 1965, “I Fought the Law and the Law Won,” 43 other drivers were humming the same tune after time trial results from night one. Tennessee lawyer, Mike Ainley, was our fast qualifier out of 44 cars for the evening!! Mike is a regular driver at Clayhill in the Street Stock class winning 5 feature events in 2006. Mike made the necessary changes to fit the rules for our Championship event, and they must have been the right changes to make, with a fast lap time of 17.474 he will roll off the grid with the heat 1 pole position.

On Friday night these 44 drivers will compete in 1 of 4 heat race events. The top 4 in each heat will transfer to the main event, and everyone else will have one final chance in 1 of 2 B-main events where the top 3 will transfer into the main event. The final three positions will be filled by our regular points winners in the Street Stock Class and the Hobby Class, plus the fastest non-qualifier from the time trial results, which will set the field of 25 for the 50 lap $6000 to win main event!!
